Crochet & Crafts - kippah shop soft launch
***KIPPOT FOR SALE***
Shalom, friends!
My name is Esther, I’m a congregational rabbi, wife, mom and ‘creative’.
I’m in the process of creating a small (tiny) business for my homemade kippot and other crafted items.
My kippah shop has both a goal and a mission.

Coming soon: Hanukkah collection |
The goal is for me to make enough money to help offset some of the costs for my future renewal of vows. My husband and I have been married for (almost) 15 adventurous years and have dreamed of doing a renewal of vows for a long time.
I want to crochet each stitch of my kippot with an unending love for the family we have built together. I hope that the profits from my little shop will give my family and our three children a vow renewal experience of a lifetime. (Read further below).

The mission for my shop is equally rooted in love. It is my passion to encourage kippah-wearing among Jews of all genders, identities and denominational affiliation. In a time where we are called to shine our light brighter than ever, I hope that my beautifully and lovingly created kippot can empower Jews in their connection to God, Torah, our Jewish community and all of the human family. I especially want to make kippot for women, female-identified and non-binary folks and also have a selection for men and male-identified folks.

Rustic collection |
All kippot are designed, crocheted and beaded by me and are handmade from high-quality mercerized cotton and artistic self-striping yarn with attractive color gradients.
The kippot measure between 4” and 5” (10- 12.5 cm) and are washable, sturdy, light and comfortable.
These are the collections in my current inventory: (prices are preliminary and subject to change; feel free to email for specifics). More collections will come in the future.
1) The High Holiday Collection (not beaded) - mercerized white cotton befitting the season with metallic detail. $30
2) The Beaded Collection (High Holidays and otherwise) - makes a unique kippah for B-Mitzvah students, weddings and other simchas. The beading increases both the labor and material costs. $40
3) The Eclectic Collection (not beaded) - these kippot in rainbow and ‘black light’ color ways POP! Celebrate the human family in all our colors with PRIDE. $30
4) The Rustic Collection - warm, fall tones made from a high quality self-striping artistic German cotton. Each kippah is united by a common set of colors but stripes in a unique design. Higher pricing is due to the cost of this one-of-a-kind yarn. $35
5) The Pastels Collection - gentle, bright and happy color ways prove that pastels aren’t plain! Made from a fine, high-quality yarn, these are silky soft and very light weight. Limited edition. $30
6) The Everyday Collection - at a more affordable price point, there is a kippah for every head. Made from a slightly thicker and sturdier mercerized cotton, these kippot can bear the wear-and-tear of daily use while not compromising on color or quality. $18

FAQ
Do you do custom orders? Under limited circumstances only. I am a fulltime congregational rabbi and prefer creating an inventory in advance in order to manage my time. However, during the summer period, between Sukkot and Hanukkah and in late winter will be times where I may be able to make more custom orders. While I build my inventory, however, I am eager to hear what styles and color ways you like best so that I can anticipate this in my inventory. Be in touch.

Beaded collection |
Why is the Beaded Collection more expensive? Bead crochet is a special skill that requires ‘loading’ the yarn with the appropriate number of beads. They cannot be added after the fact. Hence, there is planning and design involved, as well as the careful loading of beads in the right colors and patterns. Added to this, the beading slows crocheting down. Extra costs for the beads themselves are also factored into the price.

Do you ship abroad? I am currently based in the USA. As a general rule, no, but am willing to make an exception for friends, acquaintances, colleagues and personal contacts. If you are one of these, be in touch!
How do I order and pay? I am in the process of registering my business and setting up a business account as well as researching what sales platform (Etsy, Facebook Marketplace etc) is optimal for my small business. Once this has been set up, this information will be posted here. In the interim, be in touch for order, payment and shipping arrangements.

Thank you for your custom!
